It is a method of
accessing electronic mail or bulletin board messages that are kept on a
mail server. In other words, it permits a "client" email program to access
remote message stores as if they were local. For example, email stored on
an IMAP4 server can be manipulated from a desktop computer at home, a
workstation at the office, and a notebook computer while traveling,
without the need to transfer messages or files back and forth between
these computers.
To send and receive
mail, you must first enable SMTP at the domain level and at the user
level. Please follow the instructions below:
- Log into the Email Management Panel –
http://domain.com:8181
- Enter – your credentials (User: “admin”, and your password).
Click on the on the
“Admin” user in the hierarchy list. A screen similar to the following
should appear:
- Click on the "SMTP" link and the following screen
will be launched:
- Click on the "click here" link and a screen similar to the one below
will be launched.
- Click on the "Enable SMTP" button.
- Follow the same steps to enable SMTP for each
individual user account on this domain.
You are now ready
to
