Installing the Joomla Content Management System on your website

Our custom application installer makes it a really easy to install Joomla onto your website. Here is a step by step guide about how to install Joomla, with screenshots to help guide the process.

First of all, login to your control panel with your domain name and password. By the way, our new look rocks, isn’t it :)

After you log in you will see the “Application Manager” under the “Linux Hosting” menu.

Click the “Go” buttonto the right of the Joomla Content Management option.

Click “Continue” to get started.

Enter the directory you want to install Joomla to and click “Continue”.

Joomla will be installed automatically, just wait for a few minutes.

Now, you can choose the languages for your Joomla Hosting.

It will make a pre-installation check for Joomla and set recommended settings.

Read and accept the Licence.

Configure your database and settings. Your database type should be MySQL and Host name is MYSQL01.

If you are using a Windows OS, FTP layer is NOT required.

Configure the main settings. Choose a good site name, type in your e-mail adress and set a password.

Choose “Install Default Sample Data” if you are not comfortable with more settings.

Voila, Your Joomla installation is now completed!

Your Joomla Website will now look like similar like the screenshot below.

If you login with your username and password, you can immediately begin to create a new page.Your control panel should be similar with this one.

I wish my last web hosting company had included a custom Joomla CMS installer. This makes it so simple to install Joomla — and maybe I’m a geek for saying this, but it also kind of makes the installation fun to do, too!
