VPS Hosting from Virtuozzo has more to offer than a Fortune Cookie

by Ozgur Akman on January 5, 2011

fortune cookieDeveloping a working and lasting server configuration is every IT specialist’s nightmare. This is because with the dynamic environment that IT is, server flexibility, efficiency and scalability is at the top of the list.

Virtuozzo VPS offers Virtuozzo Containers as its flagship server virtualization solution. This VPS hosting solution creates unique and intelligent Virtual Environments on one existing server. These partitions are created using only one OS onto which multiple instances of partitions are virtualized, each of these acting as a single, independent server. These potentially hundreds of virtual servers can be easily configured independent of each other.

Another critical aspect of Virtuozzo Containers is the complete isolation of each Virtual Environment or Virtual Server. Because all these VE’s reside on one server and use one OS, the danger of one VE affecting the others is apparent. However, Virtuozzo VPS hosting creates airtight VE instances that cannot affect each other whatsoever. Utilizing cutting-edge technology, Virtuozzo ensure each partition remains independent and isolated from the others. This also means that server users of one partition cannot access other partitions at any time.

Resource allocation may be perhaps the next thing one thinks about when considering virtualization. What about limits, resource overages and so on? Virtuozzo offers an integrated approach to this issue that covers CPU, disk space, memory and network l/O aspects of each partition. It may well occur that certain changes need to be made to one partition, say, perhaps the increase or scaling up of space. This is achieved easily through the use of resource management tools easily accessible to the server admin. In addition, these adjustments do not affect any other aspects of the VE or the other VE’s for that matter.

Business continuity is also addressed by the Virtuozzo VPS approach that ensures all your server capabilities can be easily migrated without loss of time, data or capability. Moving server applications from one physical server to another is often a laborious and long winded matter. However, migrating your VEs with Virtuozzo to another server is easy and fast as Virtuozzo Containers make it easy to separate VE from physical servers.

Finally, tying it all together is the ability to mass-manage all your VEs from one automated, multiple VE, multiple server administration hub. This ensures that all the numerous VE instances do not create a complex set of resources to manage, but all can be easily managed and administrated from one point.

It’s amazing that Virtuozzo is able to create such airtight partitions. Some VPS companies claim their partitions are strong, but then you find out how easily they can be breached.

I can’t believe how easy Virtuozzo makes everything, especially migration. IT specialists everywhere must be popping open the champagne bottles.

Yeah, to manage everything from one central point makes business much more productive and life much simpler.

After reading this, I can’t wait to get my hands on that automated, multiple VE.

A multiple server administration hub is something I used to dream about, but never thought I’d be lucky enough to see!
