Magento - Getting Started

Can anyone help me to get started using Magento installation? I am familiar with setting up e-commerce sites(OsCommerce) at least I think I am! I have installed Magento through myhost install application but I do not see the folder anywhere when I FTP in.

I also added a test product and it is not showing up. I know I need to change index file but again, FTP issue is not allowing me.

Have you tried to locate with filemanager on cpanel?

Files are hidden by default for applications installed through your onCloud application vault. See an article here for details on accessing those files through FTP http://myhosting.com/kb/Accessing_the_Installed_Application_Directory

That said, if you didn't get an error and the product isn't showing up that seems very strange.
