Server to Server File Transfer

When I transfer files from one folder in my oncloud account to another folder, it is my understanding that I must download to my own hard drive via FTP and then upload to the new location via FTP.

Is there some easier, faster way to transfer files, e.g., from siteapps to httpdocs directly from server to server without having to download and upload?
