Do people still disable their JavaScript these days? What would be a reason for doing this?

I think less people disable javascript now, JavaScript is used in millions of Web pages to add functionality, validate forms, detect browsers, and much more. You can disable javascript for faster site/page load, but the page/site usually become incomplete

My friend uses their Blackberry to browse the web. The built-in browser has JavaScript functionality; however, by default it is turned off.
