IP class for VPS

Hi everyone. I'm on the verge of signing up for VPS Developer package, but want to find out what class of IP is assigned to such a package.

I don't really anticipate a C Class IP (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classful_network) at this price (!), but A class (v. poor; and SLOW) is my reason for leaving current hosts (1and1).

Are current users happy with pagespeed on their sites?
