sharepoint hosting

Is is possible can we have database (sql 2005) & application (moss 2007) under Windows 2008 OS platform as virtual hosting. As Microsoft recommends to have it seperately. If we go for single server is there any difficulties? if so please give us the details?

Currently we offer only SQL 2008 and Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 under our VPS hosting. Unfortunately we do not offer MOSS at this point.
