Do you all allow the inbound e-mail functionality in your WSS 3.0 implementation? I have a need to keep e-mails sent to a Distribution List archived. I would like to mail enable a list in WSS 3.0 to perform this task.

Check this out
SharePoint also gives you the option to conveniently store the emails sent to the SharePoint group (via its distribution group) in a list.

"Storing emails" is quite different than "receiving emails"... Can my hosted SharePoint site receive an attachment (Word) into a library from an email sent to that library?
Thanks,
cjc

It is possible to create email enabled lists or sites in WSS 3.0, but we don't currently support this feature and don't see very many requests for it at all.

That is too bad! This capability is a tremendous way to "receive form data" from Word files, especially from those who do not have InfoPath capabilities or Apple users. Is this not supported or not available?
I believe it is supported in WSS 3.0, but we have not made the feature available in our SharePoint hosting packages.
