How do i fix 404 error?

I have been getting this 404 error on my site and i don't know why? I have all my files in the HTTP Docs folder but it gives me the 404 error. the main page to my site is called index.html is that right? should i call it something else like home.html? please answer these questions. i have tried everything but it won't work? do i need to also put on the picture files on my website? i already called customer services and am still confused?:(:confused::confused::confused:

What platform do you use? do you use any CMS? index.html file usually takes precidence on website and will load first when visiting your URL
