How can you make sure that everyone who buys something on your site is an adult, and not, say, a child using his or her parents' credit card?

Credit card is the most convenient method for most customers, Because you have to be over 18 to have a credit card. You can also ask for photo ID (passport, driving license), where they can be age verified by your store staff.
