High (100.1%) CPU Usage Problem

Hi Markpringle,

You should look for things such as plugins and modifications you may have added recently, a lot of mail being sent out, poorly optimized SQL databases, the node is overloaded causing high disk IO, Could be DDoS attacks and so forth. I think myhosting customer support is able to assist and or recommend various things / optimization / tweaking to reduce your CPU usage.

My site went down today because of high CPU usage. This is the fourth time in the past 2 weeks this has happened. What causes this? I have a fairly popular website (www.poetrysoup.com (http://www.poetrysoup.com/)) but not so popular that it should crash - since I'm paying for 5 GB of ram.
