If you're going to hire a PR firm to help you market your online services, what's the most important factor to look for?

cheap! and make sure you read testimonials and make sure you're hiring a firm with a history of proven results.

There are a lot of ways you can advertise yourself, too, if your budget is low. Study up on social media!

i agree. it really depends on your size. but PR is basically a third party saying good things about you. so this can easily be done by yourself and perhaps a couple of freelancers. lets say you want to release a press release…
then hire someone to write a professional press release then go to prweb.com or similar to send it out. this will cost less than a pr firm doing it for you.

If you have the budget for a pr firm though then the good ones are really worth every penny because of their contacts and resources.
