Do you think the personal computer is dead at this point? Would anybody buy a PC now, or see themselves buying one in 2012 or '13?

Yeah, I think tablets might phase out all other forms of computing eventually. The laptop should be around for a while, but the days of the PC are clearly numbered.

probably every home will have a server or can be plugged into the cloud…then you will have all these gadgets like ipads and iphones to receive and send data. pc or workstations will be around but far less in number. imo

IMHO People aren’t buying new PCs because they’re getting along just fine with the one they already have
Total worldwide PC sales fell 14 percent to 76.3 million units in the first quarter, IDC said on Wednesday, exceeding its forecast of a 7.7 percent drop. It was the fourth consecutive quarter of year-on-year declines.
