What makes HTML 5 different from past versions of HTML? Do you have to learn a lot of new things when you take on the challenge of HTML 5 programming?

I would like to add new elements included in HTML5, here are they,

1. Section - Section here represents general documents.
2. Article - Article represents piece of information from documentation.
3. Hgroup - Hgroup represents header section of page or website.
4. Figure - Figure represents a piece of self-contained flow content.
