What's the easiest way to insert a screenshot onto your website? And I assume you need the permission of the person who runs a website before you can use a screenshot from that site.

Always a good idea to get permission. You can use any screen grab software and then embed into your webpage same way you would with any other image file. pretty straight-forward really. Just optimize the size of the image for the web.
