As I understand it, Google has been able to crawl and index Flash content for some time now. But does Flash content still give you an SEO disadvantage? Any way to make sure your Flash content is indexed the same way as all your other content?

Another disadvantage of flash based site concerns loading time. Flash animated content loads longer than regular one and Google includes load time in SERP Algorithm.

Funny thing about that is flash used to be known for a programmers ability to use preloaders so users would not be sitting waiting for content.

You can build flash sites that have xml and static versions of the site. This can be optimized for the engines.
