Registering a Domain Name

Greetings,

I'm looking at a .net domain which has expired, however, when I try to register it it says that it is not available. If the owner doesn't renew, how long does it take before someone else can register a .net domain name?

Typically 45 or so days from expiration. It will go into a redemption period for 30 days, then a pending delete status for 6 days. Once it's in redemption period, you can predict the exact day it will be available. The actual grace period can be different for each individual registrar and domain name extension.
