I am trying to figure out how to set up a feed so that I can have a Subscribe button or field for people to enter their email address to subscribe to my blog.

I know I'll probably have to use Feedburner. At Feedburner, I can't get past the initial point of entering my blog URL. It comes back with:

"We could not find a valid feed at that address"

So, I guess I don't even know how to set up a feed. Any help appreciated. The theme I am using is called Photo Theme Responsive, if that is of any help.

Thank you!

To get over that initial hurdle, I had to turn on permalinks. I think it's all set up now.

There are also plugins which will help you accomplish the same thing. The one that comes to mind is WordPress › Subscribe2 « WordPress Plugins (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/subscribe2/), but there might be others.

However, if you're already using feedburner, it might just be easier for you to go with that solution in the long run. The fewer plugins, the better.

Thank you for replying! I will give that plugin a try because Feedburner does not appear to be working for me. Myself and one other person subscribed and today I posted an entry to test it. Neither of us received a blog update by email.

Thank you for the Subscribe2 recommendation! I will give that a try because Feedburner isn't working for me. It's not sending out update notices.
