Is there a way to import content from other blogs such as blogger?
Yeah, absolutely. This is a built in feature of Wordpress. In Wordpress 2.5+ you can log into the Admin interface, click on Manage and then Import.
There's an import routine for Blogger, GreyMatter, LiveJournal, MovableType and TypePad, and many others. Also, there's a RSS importer so if any of the others don't apply, but the import source has an RSS feed, you can import that way.
