Here's something I've been thinking about lately: what's the highest number of facebook friends you can have and really keep in touch with them? If someone has over 1,000 friends, aren't they just overwhelmed every day with status updates and such?

I have lots of friends in facebook (over 1200 as I remember now)
I don't literally follow each of them. I just look what is in my homepage. Some friends are always on the homepage though.
