Office 2010

Microsoft Office 2010 comes out in a couple weeks. Do you think this upgrade will eb worth the money, or do you think Office will be phased out soon?

I don't think Office will be phased out anytime soon... what other product suites are worthy competitors? MS Office is pretty standard across all industries in my experience.

As far as upgrading goes... are bug fixes, new features, etc, worth the price tag? They are to me, so I usually upgrade to new versions when I know they're stable.

OpenOffice (http://www.openoffice.org/) is probably the best competitor to MS Office at the moment. It's probably 95% compatible with most MS Office documents. However, subtle changes can occur when opening an MS Office doc in OpenOffice.
