Free Sharepoint-like Software

Is there free software i can download that works similar to SharePoint? I want to share some docs with different users but i don't want to pay for Sharepoint. Call me cheap but why should i pay for something if i can get it for free. If there's free Sharepoint hosting out there i'd settle for that :)

Hello Ruth,

I am only familiar with DotNetNuke that is close to what SharePoint does. Correct me if I am wrong but Windows SharePoint Services is a FREE product anyway, right?

Open a free Gmail account at http://www.google.com

Have your document collaborators open one too.

You'll get another email address, but you can use their Googledocs tool to work collaboratively on documents and spreadsheets that you create with Microsoft Word and Excel. Google actually beat Microsoft to the punch several years ago with this free functionality.
