Hi - has anyone used or tried Microsoft Groove and complement it with the SharePoint server/services? Based on my research, it's a better and seamless collaboration tool than just using SharePoint. I'm not sure as well whether hosting is even needed to utilize the software...excuse my ignorance here, but any info would be great!

In Groove 2007 there is a Workspace tool called the SharePoint Files tool. Basically, it allows you to connect to your WSS3 site and create an offline copy of any document storage folder or sub-folder. You can then synchronize back and forth (2-way) using Groove. It may be convenient for you if you use Groove 2007 a lot and always have it running in your tray. Also, it would allow you to take your files offline, work on them, and then synchronize them later back to your SharePoint site. It doesn't seem to do lists though, just document libraries.

There's also a third-party product called Colligo Reader (http://www.colligo.com/go/webads/Reader_Partner.asp?PartnerNum=0605SCT26wqz0288) which is free allows you to download lists and libraries and view them offline (1-way sync). And if you upgrade to Colligo Contributor, you'll get 2-way sync.

I haven't tried Groove yet. Any feedback on its performance?
