start blogging

What's the best place to get started when you want to write a blog? I've heard that blogspot.com--I think Google runs that--is good for amateurs.

Aside from blogspot, the other popular free blog platform would be Wordpress. I'm happy with Wordpress but can't offer a comparison because I've never used blogspot before.

Tumblr and Posterous (micro-blogging) have become very popular and is very easy to use. These platforms fills the gap between a blog and twitter.
