    Default Email Tools

So, there was an email today about a 'new email' interface with our Premium Service.

But, I find myself beating my head against a wall.

It seems that my ISP is blocking port 25 (although they won't admit it in written form). At least, that is as close as I can figure out so far. I thought it would be neat to offer our clients / club members an email address "@ourdomain.com". But, if any of them had the difficulties setting up their accounts that I am dealing with ~ well, let's just say I don't want to be a full-time-un-paid technical support rep to our clients / club members.

So, next, I want to build a mailing list ... for notifications only. I don't want an discussion list. I just want to be able to do 'blast emails'. I know I can do that from my email client ~ but my boss ain't that compu-literate ... so I thought it would be easy for me to administer from this site. And I am having all sorts of difficulties getting that to happen too.

Is there a FAQ and How To for the 'new service"? Suggestions, anyone?

    TIA

    Default Re: Email Tools

If your ISP is blocking port 25 you can use the following alternate SMTP port. Change the settings in your email client application such as Outlook Express.
    SMTP Server: alternativesmtp.myhosting.com
    SMTP Port: 587

For your mailing list issue you can create an email alias. Go to emailadmin.myhosting.com, log in, and go to the Aliases section. Create a new alias and enter the email address for each person in your mailing list. Then when you send an email to the alias, all members will receive the email.
