How long does it take to build up your website's keyword universe? Is this universe something that should always be changing and expanding?

You can probably come up with a handful of targeted keywords for your website. Then as you add content around those KWs there will be additional long-tail KWs that the search engines pick up. Usually these long-tails are more fruitful in the long run.
