Which Plan?
I am definitely new to this web hosting business but I have a website I need to post and am not sure what kind of plan I would need. I'm thinking the Basic plan since my site is Basic and static. I would need to be able to get the site setup before I move my domain name over and would like this to go as smooth as possible. Any recommendations?

Re: Which Plan?
Answer to your problem is easy. Go ahead and open up a basic account using a Vanity name (e.g. test.myhosting.com). Transfer your domain name once your site is ready. How about it?

Re: Which Plan?
In this case the basic plan may not be the easiest way to go about this. While it is very possible to setup a basic plan and get your files posted and tested prior to moving your domain name, it does require some advanced configuration of your production and testing machines in order for them to access the site space prior to moving the domain name to us. The premium plan on the other hand does not require this sort of modification and can be directly accessed by IP address prior to the moving of the domain name.
The technical reason behind this is that the Basic plans run on shared IP addresses which means the server doesn't know which site space to show you unless the domain name created is included in the request to view it. As such, a given testing machine would need to have it's hosts file modified so that it "thinks" that your to-be domain name his hosted on our servers actively (ie does not look to the live host for web information).
The Premium plans offer dedicated IP addresses which can be used in accessing the site for testing purposes directly so these adjustments are not needed and thereby the whole process is simpler. This would be one example of where more features can equal a more simplified experience.
