This user can successfully become the admin user 'su admin', however neither this user or admin are members of the sudoers file. Plus neither user can 'su root' or issue a command like:
su -c "echo '$user ALL=(ALL) ALL' >> /etc/sudoers"
I'm trying to troubleshoot an issue we have with qmail however, I can't even use tail on the maillog without getting a permission denied error.

I'm sure I've missed a basic step here, can someone point me in the right direction.
