Default increase file upload size in wordpress installation

My goal is to be able to increase the media file upload maximum file size in a Wordpress installation.

I've tried several of the Wordpress file mods suggested by Wordpress users, but they have not worked.

Is there a server setting that can be made via Myhosting.com to allow this?

Any other suggestions to accomplish this?

    Thanks,

    Jim

    Hi Jim,

You can increase file upload limit using php.ini, change the parameter on these following lines to whatever size you need
    upload_max_filesize
    and
    post_max_size
Use phpinfo() to find out the location of your php.ini file

You can also contact customer care for further assist, You can contact them at support@myhosting.com, or by phone at 1-866-289-5091

    Cheers

    Thank you, suwunk.

Support got back to me and said that, since I have a shared hosting account, I can't get at the php.ini file and they can't change the upload value. I could consider VPS hosting.

However, it turns out that for a multi-site install of Wordpress the upload settings can be adjusted in Network Admin dashboard under settings.

    Hi Jim,

So just to confirm, those setting changes worked for you? Could you let us know what you changed from / to so we have some idea?

Was it the support that found this or yourself? And also Him, can you also please post the ticket number here?
