    Default building your own computer

If you have a tech enthusiast in your family, how do you get him/her started on building their own computer? Any good guides/good places to buy parts? Do you think this is a worthwhile project, or a waste of time?

If they're interested in learning, then why not facilitate that?

Search Google for things like "how to build a computer", "guide to building computers", etc.

In my personal experience, I learned quite a bit building my own computer. Just by researching different brands/models/etc. and reading reviews, you become familiar with the guts of the computer.

The most important thing to research is that all the parts you get are compatible with each other. (i.e. motherboards, CPU, RAM...)
