    Default Oracle Acquires Sun

Oracle has acquired Sun Microsystems, and along with it, MySQL.

I use MySQL extensively. I hope nothing bad happens to it.

Why do you think that something bad could happen to MySQL? Oracle is a giant as compared to 'Sun' so I am hoping to see something more productive from this "marriage".

I think that is exactly where the fear comes from.
Big companies often sacrifice quality, especially in terms of customer service, when they acquire small fish like that.
I've been part of the little fish when we got swallowed up, it was bad for the employees and bad for the customers.

i totally know what you mean sf. i worked for a small office supply retailer at one point and it was awesome. employees loved it, customers loved it, everyone loved it...

then they got bought out and the new company started treating the customers and employees like crap, which means the customers started treating employees like crap too.

    it was terrible.
