Microsoft bids farewell to CES

Microsoft has announced that it will no longer participate in CES after 2012. It will put on its own shows from now on, like Apple does. Could we be seeing the end of such industry-wide events?

Yeah, the days where CES was the biggest industry trade show are probably numbered. Still, it'd be nice if every major tech company participated. It's cool to have all those giants in the same space.
