AVG 8.0

Not too long ago I upgraded my computer and laptop to the new AVG 8 and now my browser seems to have slowed down. I use FireFox 3 so it should be super speedy. It feels like AVG 8 is just overloaded with stuff. It likes to put a checkmark beside every link as their approval that the site is not evil. I think it has something to do with the 'Safe Surf-Shield" or 'Link Scanner' features. Can anyone suggest an alternative to AVG that's also free but not loaded with all this other stuff.

"what is avg" lol can we say...spammer? lol. I dunno i like avg, i've never had a problem. did you turn off your other firewalls? cause u should turn off windows defender, that will make it less slow

First, I free or not, AVG is one of the best computer security programs out there. And I agree, I've heard of people having troubles because they didn't shut off the firewall or security programs that come with their computer.
