PHP on Windows Server

I have several of my own sites and all of my clients sites with MYHOSTING.com and I've always been pleased with the great service and ease with which most things work.

I have a problem now and might have to move all my sites and my clients to another host. This is the PHP issue. The current version of Windows Server supports PHP. I use several PHP applications---Blogs, search features, etc. that are PHP based. Because I must maintain all the PHP apps on a sub-domain, the Linux server, it makes my sites very, very clunky.

So, I read that if you joined after a certain date, you were on the newer version of Windows server and therefore did not need the sub-domain. Believe me, it's awful to to have a website at mysitedomain.com and my blog at apps.mysitedonain.com and having to integrate with weird links and I-Frames.

But, as it turns out, because I'm a long term customer, I'm stuck with the old server software.

That means I am penalized for loyalty?

I'd love to dump Linux and get all my stuff on one server. Why can't this be done? What's the issue? I've talked to support many times about this---I get a different answer every time. There are others out there with the same issue. Do we all just move? Or do we leave for a month and come back to the new servers?

There should be an easy mechanism for me to choose the new server software.

Hi Chris,

We aren't trying to penalize anyone. There are just a number of complications that may arise for Windows 2003 users upgrading to Windows 2008, so we didn't want to force it on anyone who wasn't ready for that. If you would like to migrate from our Windows 2003 to Windows 2008, please contact our Customer Support team, I believe they will be able to help you with the transition.
