paying for wikis

Does anyone out there pay people to write wikis for their site, or are wikis almost always written voluntarily? I was curious if you'd get better / more accurate content if you hired someone to do this writing.

You often need someone to get things started, but after that your best content is going to come from user input. I would highly recommend getting your clients involved.
