Does anyone have a business web site that plays music as soon as it pops up? I don't know if this is a cheesy idea, although if it was classical music or something it might make your online business seem classy.

i would say for a business site that would be a faux pas. I created a site for a band once and had a hard time deciding if the music should play automatically even then. I figured with a site about music tho as long as there was an accessible pause button people would be OK with it.

Music that automatically plays on a website is a personal pet peeve of mine (usually because I listen to music when I surf).

Some people don't mind it, and some people hate it. However, I don't think that there are many people that like it (or has a positive effect from it).

Hear hear! Never play music automatically. If you want music to play, give the user to option to start the music.
