    Question FTP Settings

    Greetings,

I just installed Microsoft Expression Web 4, and I'm trying to set it up. In the FTP settings, one of the options is the Maximum number of simultaneous connections. Does anyone know how many FTP connections myhosting allows?

    Thanks,
    Shane.

Dunno if it is any help but I'm using Filezilla and I'm getting a huge number of error messages saying I'm only allowed two simultaneus connections. (And I only have it set for two connections.) What's up with that?

MyHosting only allows 2 active sessions, but the client application determines how well those sessions are managed. For instance, when using FileZilla, setting a limit of 2 active sessions is strictly reinforced by FileZilla, so it only allows 2 connections at any one time.

However, when using BeyondCompare, even if 2 active sessions are set up, when I want to switch my base folder location to compare different folders while the program is still comparing the previous set of folders, I trigger an error that only 2 active sessions are available. I have to stop any file activity first before changing context.

I don't know how this works if a user opens files to edit remotely, for instance using a text editor or web dev IDE. Perhaps the applications are better able to manage concurrent FTP sessions.

To Admins: Does MyHosting offer webDAV on shared cloud servers?
