full screen on netbook

I'm not getting a full screen display on my Acer Aspire netbook. What should I do?

"If your desktop is abnormally small and doesn't use the full screen on your monitor, your screen settings may not be configured correctly. To remedy this, right-click on the desktop and select "Properties" from the sub-menu. Then go to the "Settings" tab and set the resolution appropriate to the size of your screen, If you find that your desktop is not using your netbook's full screen, that means you need a larger resolution."
