Is FTP facility absolutely critical? If you could sign up with a host that doesn't offer it for a really cheap price, would you do it?

FTP feature is crucial, I`ll never sign to a host that doesn't offer it.

Why do I need to use FTP?

* To promote sharing of files (computer programs and/or data).
* To encourage indirect or implicit use of remote computers.
* To shield a user from variations in file storage systems among different hosts.
* To transfer data reliably, and efficiently.
* To perform web site publishing and/or maintenance.
* To create backups of local or remote files.
