    Default Issues with outgoing emails

I have signed up for a Debian Linux VPS and I have a php application. I am trying to send emails via php but haven't been successful. I have also tried with the webmail interface provided in the plesk panel and wasn't successful there either. Anyone faced this issue and know how to fix it?

Are you attempting to use Qmail or postfix?

I have the same problem with my new hyper-v, I tried to use telnet with a few external smtp servers on port 25 but the connection does not work, I suspect that outgoing trafic on that port is blocked by myhosting to avoid the risk that one of its IP goes blacklisted.

I wanted to install a mail server to manage the mails of my domains, nothing bad, but I can't for that problem.

If I don't find a quick solution I'll have to stop my subscription, and I'm hoping it doesn't happen, if the problem is really due to myhosting blocking policy I would have wished that this limit was published better inside the page's offer.

    Hi Spartaco!

Please take a look at the wiki article for SMTP for virtual server.

You must use this SMTP server, when sending email, if you have a virtual server. Hope this helps! Please let us know, or contact virtual-server@myhosting.com for assistance.

    Default Documentation Is Needed!

There should be much better documentation for this.. when I got the Hyper-V plan, it never mentioned this important info. You guys need to put together a better packet of information for your customers.... even the login information for accessing the Plesk control panel was not included!
