VPS Memory...is this normal?
I signed up for VPS service almost a month ago (worst month of my web life - problems every day). Anyway, I paid for 5 GB or ram but only 3 GB is showing in my Control Panel as installed Memory (RAM). I've noticed that this installed Memory (RAM) fluctuates. Is this normal for VPS? If I am paying for 5 GB or ram, shouldn't I get 5 GB ALL THE TIME? Isn't that what dedicated ram is? 5 GB dedicated to me? Again, since I am new to the VPS world I don't know if this is normal or not.

Dynamic Memory
Hi There,
I assume that you have a Windows 2008 R2/Hyper-V account? If this is true, then it is because of Dynamic Memory.
For reference: http://myhosting.com/statusblog/2011...ervice-update/
Dynamic Memory – One update that may confuse existing users is the implementation of Dynamic Memory. Upon update of your Hyper-V VPS, your VM available RAM indicator will show only the highest value of RAM used since your last boot.
Your purchased RAM is setup properly and if your Virtual Machine requires additional RAM, our system will provide it dynamically without user intervention! The indicator will actually show an increase as more RAM is accessed by your VM to a maximum of your purchased amount.
And a More technical explanation can be found here:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff817651(WS.10).aspx
