    Default free trial period

    If a virtual server gives you a free trial period of, say, 14 days, what should you test out specifically? I wouldn't want to do too much work on a server only to realize I'm not going to keep it!

    Tools: byte-unixbench - A Unix benchmark suite - Google Project Hosting
    2. Test Download speed
    Start the test by downloading the file:
    wget http://cachefly.cachefly.net/100mb.test
    3. Test I/O
    Code:
    # dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync
