I want to be able to create sub-domains under my domain name, and point them to sub-directories on my hosting account. This would allow me to create sub-sites for different purposes, or even use Wordpress MU.

I need to create subdomains on both Linux and Windows hosting. This is a fundamental feature myhosting should have. Almost all hosting providers have it for free.
with professional and premium plans we have only one subdomain. If your main environment is Windows yo have a one subdomain on Linux.
thank you
Agree wholeheartedly, but not just Linux accounts!

I have been a MyHosting customer, fan, and cheerleader for many years now. But I recently had to open a new hosting account with another company and I felt like a cheating spouse. But I had to - I am a web designer and I needed to have one hosting account that would allow me to create sub-domains for each of the sites I'm working on for staging. But most of my work is Windows hosting, though I do have a fair number of Linux client sites. I would need both Windows and Linux accounts to offer sub-domains. You used to offer this, I can't figure out why you stopped...
Thanks for considering,
Kym
