You may have a zip file on your website for various reasons. Maybe
you've uploaded a collection of pictures, or perhaps you sent your
database in a compressed format to save transfer time. File Manager
gives you the ability to unzip a file directly on your website. This
FAQ will explain how to go about decompressing a zip file.
To start, access File Manager from your Control Panel.
First, you will need to select which zip file you wish to
decompress. It might be a good idea to create a new folder first before
unzipping this file as some zip files contain a large amount of files
and you may not want to put all those files into an existing directory.
Once you've created a directory you can proceed by checkmarking the zip
file you want on the left hand side. From there, click on the "UnZip"
icon in the menu bar.
You will be prompted for where you want to unzip the file to.
Navigate the folder list (To go into a folder, click on the folder name.
To go up one level, click on the Up icon.) until the folder you want
to unzip the files to is shown in the "Folder" field and click on
"Extract Here".
After a few moments, depending on the size of the zip file, you
will be returned to the regular File Manager screen in the original
folder you were in.
All the files in your zip file will have been decompressed to the folder you selected and ready for use.
