The myhosting.com File Manager gives you the ability to make copies
of files that you have, as well as cut and paste (move) files. You also
can move folders or any combination of the two.
To start, access the myhosting.com File Manager from your Control Panel.
Locate the files and/or folders that you wish to move or copy
to another location. Navigate through the folders on your website by
clicking on them. Once you have found them, select the files and/or
folders by checking them on the left hand side.
Then click on either the "Copy" or "Cut" icon. The "Copy" icon
will create an exact copy of all the files you have selected. "Cut"
will move the files to another location, deleting the files from their
original place. Once you click on either icon, the File Manager screen
will refresh. You will still see the files you have selected to copy or
paste, however, they will now be unselected. Note: Files that
have been marked as "Cut" do not disappear unlike some other programs
with a "Cut" function. This is to make sure that you do not
accidentally lose your files. The "Cut" function will only delete the
original files once they have been placed in their new location.
Now navigate to the folder where you wish to place your files and/or folders.
Click on the "Paste" icon and after a few moments, the
myhosting.comâ„¢ File Manager will refresh showing the files in their new
location. If you had chosen "Copy", this will be a duplicate of the
files you have selected. If you had chosen "Cut" the files will be
removed from their original location and placed in your destination
folder.
Note: You may see some folders with a "_" prefix like "_vti_script".
Do NOT touch or delete these folders. They are critical to the
operation of the FrontPage extensions and changing them in any can can
corrupt the FrontPage Extensions and possibly breaking your website from
functioning normally.
