Shopping Cart & License Installation

Included with each eCommerce Hosting Plan is a free license and installation of the Pinnacle Cart eCommerce Shopping Cart. To get started with Pinnacle Cart, you can follow these steps to set up a sub-domain, install the application, and obtain your license.

  1. Log into your Control Panel and select your eCommerce Hosting Subscription.
  2. If you have not already done so, you will need to create a sub-domain name to use with your Pinnacle Cart application. Click on Sites & Domains and then click Add New Subdomain.
  3. If you have more than one domain name, select the one you want to use and type the sub-domain name in the field provided. You can leave the Web Hosting and Mail Hosting options as None and click Next >> to proceed.
  4. In the navigation menu on the left side of the page, click on Pinnacle Cart and then click Create.
  5. Select the Sub-domain name you created in the previous steps from the Installation Domain drop-down list. Fill in your site information, contact information, username and choose a strong admin password and click Next >>.
  6. Review the information you filled in, and click Finish to start the installation. It will take a few minutes to complete the application installation.
  7. You will also need a License to enable your Pinnacle Cart application. From the navigation menu at the top of the page, click on Billing, and from the My Services section select Manage Subscriptions.
  8. Next, click on your eCommerce Hosting subscription that appears in the list.
  9. Select the Licenses tab and click the Buy New License button and then choose Pinnacle Cart eCommerce Shopping Cart.
  10. You will see a drop-down list with 3 different options. The Starter license is included free with your subscription, but if you are interested in one of our other license options, you can check our website for a comparison of the license features.
  11. After you have selected the license you want, click the Next >> button, and click Place Order to complete the process.
  12. It will take a few minutes for your order to process and your license will be automatically installed into your Pinnacle Cart site for you. You can then navigate back to the Pinnacle Cart section of your control panel to begin configuring your eCommerce site!

Troubleshooting Errors in your Shopping Cart

"Warning: Division by zero" Error

If you receive the following error on your shopping cart category pages, it may be caused by a blank or zero value set in Pages number in navigation bar.

Division by zero in .../htdocs/content/engine/engine_functions.php on line 939

From your Pinnacle Cart Admin area, select the Cart Settings menu and click on Appearance Settings then choose Catalog Settings from the left Quick Links menu. Make sure that there is a number greater than zero set in the Pages number in navigation bar field.

"exec() has been disabled" Error in Backup / Restore

When attempting to create or restore a backup from the Pinnacle Cart admin area, you may see an error like:

Warning: exec() has been disabled for security reasons in
.../htdocs/content/admin/admin_backup_restore.php on line 614

As indicated by the error message, exec() has been disabled for both performance and security reasons, and cannot be completed from the Pinnacle Cart admin interface.
