A recent report from WebHostingTop.org compares dedicated and virtual private server hosting plans, eventually concluding that both virtual server hosting plans can offer users significant benefits.

Dedicated servers, according to the report, are ideal for businesses that are consistently going beyond the restrictions of their current hosting plan, and expect growth and traffic expansion to continue.

The report said a dedicated server allows users to leverage powerful resources, but also requires significant management to ensure optimal operation.

Virtual private servers, on the other hand, are slightly less powerful, but also are somewhat easier to manager because they still are just a dedicated partition of a physical server.

A VPS server, according to the report, is ideal for businesses that have outgrown their shared hosting plan and need a more powerful option that is not too expensive.

Cloud hosting is also emerging as a powerful service, Ezine Articles reports. In cloud hosting plans, multiple physical devices are connected, allowing virtual servers to leverage computing power from the combined pool of resources created through the connection. Furthermore, cloud hosting completely separates the virtual machine from any physical device.
