A recent report from the Host Review said cloud hosting, be it a network of dedicated or VPS servers, is redefining the virtual server hosting industry.
According to the report, cloud hosting is becoming popular because it allows businesses to leverage more diverse, customized and flexible hosting plans for competitive costs. In a cloud hosting solution, multiple physical servers are connected in a single network. Virtual machines can then be completely separated from the physical device, and leverage the resources available from the network of servers.
The report said this makes cloud hosting plans significantly more powerful and flexible than traditional hosting plans because they can essentially be established to meet any need at any point in time.
However, early concerns about security have limited cloud hosting's popularity. That is changing, the report said, as vendors design new systems capable of securing the cloud. Subsequently, cloud hosting could become standard in the industry, according to the report.
An earlier report from the Host Review said cloud hosting could develop into the only virtual server hosting plan capable of offering 100 percent reliability. Since the virtual machine is so completely separated from an individual physical device, it would be easier for hosting providers to ensure perfect uptime.
