Data centers on the east coast can now enjoy the support of cPanel's fast update service, which allows virtual server hosting companies and clients to efficiently update their cPanel virtual server management software.
According to the Hosting News, cPanel's service allows virtual server administrators to install and update cPanel's core software through a local mirror service instead of using a traditional internet connection. As a result, virtual server hosting vendors in the region can anticipate significantly faster installation and updating speeds.
The local mirror service works by using a network of more than 50 servers deployed throughout the world to provide a regional base for each cPanel software update, the report said. Data centers in the region can then tap into the closest server offering the update, increasing download speeds because data does not need to travel as far or deal with as many network bottlenecks along the way.
According to an earlier Hosting News report, cPanel is one of the most popular Web Host Management programs available for traditional and reseller virtual server hosting providers. The report said cPanel creates a simple system to manage multiple virtual machines.
